What is special about McKenzie Orchards B&B?

We would like to introduce you to some of the features of our brand-new inn that offer you comfort, convenience, and enjoyment:

Floating and relaxing on the McKenzie River near Eugene Oregon.

The McKenzie River

Our inn is located at the edge of a meadow along the lower McKenzie River which gives you easy year-round river access and a secluded country landsacpe. The McKenzie River is a little-known gem of the Northwest. A tributary of the Willamette River, the McKenzie flows from headwaters high in the Cascades, filled with roaring waterfalls, to the peaceful woods and fields of the Springfield area of the Willamette Valley. Quiet and uncrowded, the McKenzie is a region of supreme beauty, known for crystal-clear blue water, mountain and farm vistas, whitewater rafting, and fishing.

Our inn is at river mile 13, where the river slows and wanders through woodland and orchard. You can launch a small boat or raft from our riverbank and enjoy a relaxing two-hour float on Class I+ (easy) water from our property to the Armitage Park takeout.

The elevator makes it easy to get around the three floors of the McKenzie Orchards B&B.

Accessible to guests with limited mobility

As a true B&B, we open our private home to guests. Although we are not subject to the Americans with Disabilites Act (ADA) requirements, we used the ADA guidelines (ADAAG) as a good design practice wherever practical. A major architectural focus is on reducing barriers. Some design features are:
- Wide doorways and extra-wide corridors.
- A three-person elevator serves all floors.
- Level grade transitions with no steps to reach the house, porches, or deck.
- Some bathrooms have low threshold showers and roll-in vanities.
- Grab bars in baths and showers.
- Lever door handles, ADA compliant faucets and toilets, casement windows.
Please enquire regarding your accessibility requirements.

Our inn is an art gallery too!

Art Gallery

We have arranged with our local artists to display their art for sale at our inn. In each of the rooms you will find fine examples of oil, watercolor and pastels. The paintings are in display frames provided by the artists. If you are interested in purchasing art, please advise the innkeeper who will gladly give you more information about the artists and show you the price list. Paintings may be purchased by credit card or personal check. We can have them shipped (additional expense) or wrap them for transport.

Sample Oregon wines.

Evening wine and appetizers

Each evening in the great room we offer wine tastings paired with delectable appetizers. The McKenzie Orchards B&B has a partnership with several local wineries to offer delicious wines for you to sample and purchase by the bottle. Willamette Valley varietals we like include Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, of course and some special Chardonnay, dry Riesling, and Viognier.
